Jim Raptis began developing property in Sydney in 1967 with passion for design and architecture.

The Raptis name became synonymous with the Gold Coast with the launch of the Mykonos development in 1978. From then, his company has contributed majorly in creating the region’s iconic relaxed lifestyle.
He has developed many buildings, including well-known buildings on the Gold Coast like Chevron Renaissance, The Corporate Centre, Southport Central and the Hilton Hotel and Residences.
His companies have won numerous awards for its designs, construction and marketing over the years, including a number of State and National awards.
In 1987, the company was named "Australian Developer of the Year" and in 2008, the company was inaugural Hotel developer of the year.
Awards & Achievements
In 1989, Jim was awarded the Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth ll, for his services to the building industry.
in 2003, Jim was awarded the Centenary Medal for distinguished services to the building industry.
A Good Citizen Award was given to Jim in 2000 and he was nominated for the Citizen of the Year Award in 2003.
He was also a recipient of the Local Hero Award, given by Mr Steven Ciobo MP, Federal Member of Moncrieff.
Jim was inaugural Hall of Fame Inductee of the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards.
In 2005, Jim was appointed Honorary Consul for Greece in Queensland. He also serves on the Clergy Laity Finance Committee with Greek Archdiocese.

Evan Raptis has had ten years’ experience as a Co-Managing Director of his own development company.
Evan Raptis has had ten years’ experience as a Co-Managing Director of his own development company. Over that decade, 11 well-received developments were completed and sold.
Evan brings that experience back to the family business and anticipates that the coming years will provide much more opportunity for the company’s future growth.
For ten years, Evan Raptis was partner and Co- Managing Director in the Emandar Group– a property development, construction and property management company. Over the decade, Emandar developed 11 successful projects on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane.
Emandar’s debut projects concentrated on the northern end of the Gold Coast with two developments, Cove35 (45 units) and The Reserve (40 townhouses).
From there, the company developed Sentosa Waters on the unique Paradise Island. This development consisted of 50 units.
Following, Emandar chose to develop near Harbourtown with a first project called Harbour Quays. This consisted of 6 buildings – 350 units in all. The second development in the same area was East Quays and comprised of 4 buildings of 290 units.
In between these projects, Emandar developed in Brisbane. These four developments – at Taigum (80 Townhouses), Callamvale (75 Townhouses), Carseldine (75 Townhouses) and at Nundah (80 Units)- were well received.
Emandar’s final project was on the Gold Coast. This consisted of two buildings of 300 units. The development is named South Lakes and is located at Varsity Lakes.
The Raptis legacy is founded on family values and while father and son, Jim and Evan, spearhead the company’s growth; the overall success of the company is attributable to a dedicated team of professionals.
